For 30 years, Sullivan Logistics has been keeping Western Australia moving.

What began with a single mail route in the mid-90s has evolved into a business trusted by West Australians from Geraldton to Kalgoorlie to Esperance and everywhere in between. From complex supply chains to time-critical freight, we’ve built a reputation for reliability, precision and partnership.

We know the value of strong and connected regions because we grew up there. We know the challenges, we have the experience, and we care about getting it right.

As we mark this milestone, we’re proud of where we’ve come from, grateful to those who’ve backed us, and focused on the road ahead.

OUR ORIGINS

In the early 1990s our founder, Tim Sullivan, bought a truck with his share of the family farm. Driving a 1989 FSR 650 Isuzu with no air conditioning or cassette player, Tim carted everything from emus (yes, emus) to mattresses to mail. His reliability, hard work and easygoing nature won the trust of business owners and companies of all shapes and sizes.

1995

After helping out Australia Post in a bind, Tim was offered the Kalgoorlie mail contract on assignment. At that moment, Kalexpress was born. Every Sunday to Friday, he would do the overnight run from Perth to Kalgoorlie, carrying mail and freight to one of WA’s most crucial mining destinations.

1997

With the Kalgoorlie route proving a success, the business decided to expand by acquiring Quality Express - an overnight run to the Great Southern including the likes of York, Beverley, Brookton, Pinjelly, Popanyinning, Kulyaling, Narrogin, Wagin, Katanning and Dumbleyung. The acquisition included a fleet of pickup trucks, increasing the capacity for better pickups in the Perth metro area.

1998

Esperance was added to the Quality Transport routes after a successful tender for the mail contract.

Early 2000s

The business name was officially changed to Sullivan Logistics, trading as Kalexpress and Quality Transport. Bunbury and Busselton routes were opened, increasing the total coverage area to 25 towns and cities across regional Western Australia. And the business started to expand into heavier transport equipment - namely prime movers and semi-trailers.

2010s

Sullivan Logistics moved to its current, more modern facility in Welshpool and started offering 3PL Warehousing as a service. With the business continuing to grow, the Sullivan family looked to give back to the communities they services through local sports and events sponsorships. This grew into a partnership with the Fremantle Dockers, including a ball sponsorship which brought the Sullivan Logistics brand into the spotlight in a major way.

Early 2020s

COVID-19 saw logistics play an even more crucial role, and we were there to answer the call. By the time the worst of the pandemic was over, the business was now servicing Albany and Geraldton and surrounding areas and had vastly expanded the Wheatbelt and South West routes. Tim also personally drove all of the Fremantle Dockers’ equipment to the Gold Coast once the team entered the AFL’s COVID hub.

2024

The business continued to grow with the acquisition of Narrogin Freight LinesSullivan Logistics also took its partnership commitments to a new level by becoming Naming Rights Partner of the WAFL competition, supporting footy right across WA. We began supporting the delivery of care bags to remote Aboriginal communities including the Ngaanyatjarra lands, Leonora and Halls Creek, and gave away thousands of free footballs to kids right across the State.

TODAY

From one mail route to Kalgoorlie 30 years ago, Sullivan Logistics has now grown to service 98 destinations throughout Western Australia. We employ more than 100 team members and have a fleet of 40 heavy vehicles and 140 pieces of transport equipment overall.

As the Official Transport and Logistics partner of WA Footy, we’re activating the Sullivan’s Sports Deck through regional and community football grounds to support community events and fundraising campaigns.

The recent acquisition of Collie Freightlines further enhances our network throughout the  South West region.

We’re known for our reliability, robust service to deliver and our community partnerships.

And we’re as committed as ever to working with great people, delivering at scale and speed right across the State.
